Terms for independent professionals

1. Your status

You are self-employed. You are not an employee, partner or agent of Hairqut.

You choose the services you offer, your hours, your areas, your tools and your products. You can refuse any appointment without giving a reason and work elsewhere at the same time.

You are responsible for your own taxes (GST/QST where applicable), contributions and filings.

2. What Hairqut does

Hairqut is a matching platform: it finds clients, takes bookings, collects payment and passes appointments to you.

Hairqut does not direct your work, supplies no tools or products, and performs no hair services.

3. Your responsibility

You alone are fully responsible for the services you provide: their quality and safety, the products you use, allergies and reactions, damage to property or people, and your conduct in the client's home.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hairqut accepts no responsibility for the services you provide, and you agree to indemnify and hold Hairqut harmless from any claim, loss or cost arising from your services or conduct.

Nothing in these terms excludes a liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

4. Your insurance

You must hold and keep in force your own professional liability insurance covering in-home services, and send us proof and its expiry date.

Hairqut does not insure you. If your insurance lapses, you receive no appointments until it is renewed.

5. Background check

With your consent, a criminal record and identity check is run by a licensed provider. You receive its invitation directly and can dispute a result before any decision is made.

6. Clients and payment

The client pays Hairqut up front. You never collect cash. Your share of each completed service is shown in Hairqut Pro.

You do not contact clients directly outside Hairqut or exchange contact details: every message through Hairqut leaves a record that protects you.

7. Your information

Your headshot, work photos, certifications and proof of insurance are used only for the internal review of your application. They are stored in Canada (Montréal, ca-central-1) and never published.

A public profile is created only if you turn it on yourself. You can remove it at any time.

Hairqut's agent moves your application forward automatically. You can ask for a person to review any decision about you and to know what information was used (Québec Law 25). Contact: privacy@hairqut.com.

8. Ending

You or Hairqut can end the collaboration at any time. Money owed for work already done stays owed to you.
